\nBefore the fall of man<\/em>
\nGod had a perfect plan,<\/em>
\nTo fellowship with us was His desire.<\/em>
\nBut Adam disobeyed,<\/em>
\nTo sin became a slave,<\/em>
\nNow a perfect sacrifice would be required.<\/em><\/p>\n

An offering must be made,<\/em>
\nThe sin debt must be payed,<\/em>
\nSo God and man could reconciled be.<\/em>
\nSo Jesus said, “I’ll go,” <\/em>
\nBecause He loved me so,<\/em>
\nHe shed His blood and paid sin’s penalty.<\/em><\/p>\n

He gave Himself to pay a debt I could not pay.<\/em>
\nWhen I was lost, He gave Himself to be my way.<\/em>
\nThough I deserved to be upon the cross that day,<\/em>
\nIn love He took my place, and gave Himself.<\/em><\/p>\n

No greater love is known,<\/em>
\nNo greater love is shown,<\/em>
\nThan when one lays His life down for a friend,<\/em>
\nBut Jesus died for me<\/em>
\nWhen I was His enemy.<\/em>
\nA love like this I cannot comprehend.<\/em><\/p>\n

He gave Himself to pay a debt I could not pay.<\/em>
\nWhen I was lost, He gave Himself to be my way.<\/em>
\nThough I deserved to be upon the cross that day,<\/em>
\nIn love He took my place, and gave Himself.<\/em><\/p>\n

My nails were in His hands,<\/em>
\nMy crown of thorns He wore,<\/em>
\nMy stripes were on His back,<\/em>
\nMy heavy cross He bore.<\/em>
\nAnd when God turned His back<\/em>
\nHe turned it on my sin,<\/em>
\nJesus won a victory that I could never win!<\/em><\/p>\n
