While sorting through a box of old music that was given to me, I came across this poem. \u00a0It has no author attributed, and I have tried in vain to find the original source; however, it was a great encouragement to me, so I would like to share it.<\/p>\n

I have been blessed with some wonderful women as my pastor’s wife, including my own mother. \u00a0I am thankful for their teaching and example.<\/p>\n

Now I have the privilege of being the wife of the pastor. \u00a0It is a unique role, and can carry a wide variety of responsibilities, but I seek to never forget that my foremost responsibility is simply to be my husband’s wife. \u00a0There are many other duties that can be delegated to others, but that one is mine alone. \u00a0I pray that I can be a worthy and faithful companion to him.<\/p>\n

If you are a pastor’s wife today, I pray that God will bless and encourage you as you hold up the hands of your spouse. \u00a0Guard your relationship with him. \u00a0Uplift him in prayer and in your speech. \u00a0Be his biggest supporter, and best friend. \u00a0Respect him. Encourage him.<\/p>\n

If you have a pastor’s wife, pray for her. \u00a0There are many battles you never see, many burdens she cannot share. \u00a0If you want to encourage her, love and support her husband. Be a good and godly example to her children.<\/p>\n

I do not say this to be self-serving. \u00a0I am very blessed to have a church filled with people who love and encourage me, but I know there are many pastor’s wives who could use an extra dose of prayer and loving support. \u00a0Many times Satan seeks to destroy the ministry of a man of God by attacking his family. \u00a0Help your pastor and his family by being an\u00a0encourager today!<\/p>\n

The Pastor’s Wife<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is one person in our church<\/em>
\nWho knows our pastor’s life,<\/em>
\nWho weeps and smiles and prays with him,<\/em>
\nAnd that’s the pastor’s wife.<\/em><\/p>\n

The crowd has seen him in his strength<\/em>
\nWhen wielding God’s sharp sword,<\/em>
\nAs underneath God’s banner’s folds<\/em>
\nHe faced the devil’s horde.<\/em><\/p>\n

But deep within her heart she knows<\/em>
\nThat scarce an hour before<\/em>
\nShe helped him pray the glory down<\/em>
\nBehind the closet door.<\/em><\/p>\n

She’s heard him groaning in his soul<\/em>
\nWhen bitter raged the strife,<\/em>
\nAs, hand in hand, she knelt with him–<\/em>
\nFor she’s the pastor’s wife.<\/em><\/p>\n

You tell your tales of prophets brave\u00a0<\/em>
\nWho marched across the world<\/em>
\nAnd changed the course of history<\/em>
\nBy burning words they hurled.<\/em><\/p>\n

And I will tell how back of each<\/em>
\nSome woman lived her life;<\/em>
\nWho wept with him and smiled with him–<\/em>
\nShe was the pastor’s wife!<\/em><\/p>\n
